1st Page critique
Anything wrong with your first page is probably wrong with the rest of your story. If it's not gripping, no agent or editor will bother to keep reading. Let's see how yours stacks up!
After placing your order, I'll send you an email with instructions looking pretty much like this:
- attach the first page of your story, novel, or other book, using this format:
- one 8 1/2 x 11 Word document or PDF (.doc .docx or .pdf)
- 1 inch margins
- 12-point Times New Roman font
- double-spaced throughout
- 0.3" to 0.5" indents on each new paragraph.
(Free tip: That's generally how your manuscript should be formatted prior to submitting to an agent or editor.)
After reading and critiquing your first page, I will send you an email back with my notes, the first being whether or not this page is likely to get an agent's or reader's pulse quickening. I will use Track Changes and/or Comments when possible, and/or write additional notes on the document or in a new attachment or body of the email.
Questions? Email firstname.lastname@example.org before placing an order.
Thanks! Keep writing!
